Effects of exogenous GA3 and warm water on dormancy breaking germination characteristics of Eucommia ulmoides

چکیده

Seeds of the plant Eucommia ulmoides Oliver, have prominent dormant characteristics. In present study, seed dormancy and germination E. were investigated by treating them with exogenous GA3 different water temperatures. The results revealed that warm soaking treatments beneficial to breaking seeds. rate seeds treated 50℃ was 84.67%. comparison, 300 mg·L-1 had only a 45%. This low resulted probably due temperature solution. Another important reason is presence eucommia gum in coat which hinders process. During germination, SOD activity (300 mg·L-1) (50 °C) increased significantly. Increased reduced degree oxidative damage plasma membrane continuous decrease TBARS content. Thereby, prompted develop direction conducive germination. addition, (50℃) content endogenous GA3, IAA, ZR seeds, decreased ABA. significantly higher ratios GA3/ABA, IAA/ABA ZR/ABA than those distilled (room temperature) plants. short, 50 °C treatment has more marked promoting effect on

Seed dormancy-breaking and germination requirements of

Dormancy breaking and germination requirements were investigated in seeds of Ferula ovina and Ferula gummosa. Seeds of rather species were collected from north and eastern-north rangelands of Iran. Seeds of each of the species were subjected to different treatments including various levels of GA3, chilling and combination of GA3 and chilling (GA-chilling). In contrast to treated seeds, non-trea...

A STUDY ON SEED GERMINATION OF AVENA LUDOVICIANA AND THE EFFECTIVE FACTORS IN SEED DORMANCY BREAKING

Wild oat has two seeds in a spikelet that they have different physiological behavior in regard of  seed germiantion. The upper seed of spikelet is smaller and has deeper dormancy than the lower seed. The range of temperature for germination is  5˚C  to  25 ˚C  and optimal temperature is 15˚C. Both kinds of seeds showed the more  germination rate in low temperatures so that 5 and 10˚C are better...
